Alistair Little b.1974
Alistair Little was born in Surrey, UK in 1974 to Scottish parents. A self-taught painter, Little pursued careers in the film and advertising industries before turning his attention to painting in the early 2000s. Similar in some respects to Edward Hopper, Little is foremostly a narrative artist whose work considers issues of conflict, isolation and identity in settings where past and present sometimes intertwine.  His body of work conveys many different stories from many different worlds from the lonely single ‘Journeyman’ figure to the escapist and heady worlds of horse racing, theatre and fast cars, to the brutal world of boxing. More recently Little returned to his love of cinema by producing poster artwork commissioned by the Bottleneck Gallery in New York.  He is represented by the Panter & Hall Gallery in London, and the Ballater Gallery in Scotland.
