Simon Palmer(b.1956)

Though born in Yorkshire, Simon Palmer grew up in Bromley Kent and graduated from Reigate School of Art in 1977, only afterwards rediscovering his native county (in particular, Wensleydale) where he settled and has lived and worked for the past 40 years. he has lived and worked in, North Yorkshire.

Palmer is one of Britain’s leading figurative artists and has made Wensleydale his hallmark of his imagination.

He has exhibited extensively since 1980 and held multiple one-man exhibitions in London with JHW Fine Art, the Portland Gallery, and the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition where he won the 2007 Turner/Winsor and Newton Watercolour Award.

Palmer individual works include watercolour, ink and gouache and, in meticulous, loving detail, can be appreciated as to be depicting nowhere other than a certain corner the England.
