Robert Tavener (1920 – 2004)
Robert Tavener was an English teacher, printmaker and illustrator of the English countryside and English architecture all characterised by a distinct layering in which foreground is always present.
Born in Hampstead, service in the Royal Artillery in WW2, in which he landed at Arromanches on D-Day plus 3, delayed his entry into art college by a number of years.
